The LRC-Center for Independent Learning (CIL) offers computer support to all SDCCD employees. Software applications include Internet browsers, MS Office, scanning, gradekeeping, web design, video editing and captioning, course management systems, publisher test banks and more. Camtasia Studio is available on several stations, facilitating the capturing, editing and captioning of locally-produced videos for uploading to the web. Utilizing our personal video studio (PVS), instructors can easily create videos such as introductions to online students, mini lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, interviews, PowerPoint presentations, and any websites or applications that can be displayed on a computer screen. Videos taken in classrooms, science labs, field trips, etc. can easily be produced for student access via the web.
One-on-one computer assistance is available to a limited extent on a walk-in basis. More in-depth assistance can be arranged by appointment with Hank Beaver: hbeaver@sdccd.edu or 619-388-2517.
