At 107,000 square feet, this $20,000,000 building is hard to miss. The LRC faculty and staff offer state-of-the-art library, computer, and media services for the entire Mesa Academic Community.
The LRC opened its doors on April 20, 1998, to great acclaim, both for its aesthetic appeal and for the excellent support it delivered as the institution's main resource for learning. We invite you to visit our website and to visit the LRC in person.
Library Resources & Services
The Library is always an important part of any college and Mesa's LRC is no exception. With a staff of six librarians and more than fifteen members on the classified staff, the LRC provides a wide range of traditional and state-of-the-art academic library services.
Audiovisual Department
The Audiovisual Services Department provides equipment, materials, and services to students, faculty, and staff at Mesa College.
Center for Independent Learning
The CIL is the place to work independently on out-of-class assignments. We have more than 140 computers with Internet Access and printing services available. Just as faculty place books on reserve in the library, they can place media on reserve in the CIL. Items on reserve range from models to videotapes and slides. Students may view materials in specially equipped booths. If you need technical help, trained staff are available to assist.
High Tech Center
The High Tech Center is a highly individualized learning lab for students with disabilities located in room 209 in the LRC. This lab is accessible to students who qualify for services through the Disability Support Programs and Services Department. Examples of assistive technology available include: screen readers, screen magnification software, alternative input devices, spell checkers, speech synthesizers, word predictors and more. African Art Collection
Mesa College is home to a wonderful collection of African Art. Throughout the year a significant portion of the collection is on display in the "Glass Gallery" located on the 1st floor of the LRC. Occasionally, Dr. Barbara Blackmun, the collection curator and an expert in the field of African Art, gives lectures on various aspects of the collection.
